Prof. Mary J. N. Okwakol is the Executive Director of the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), the body that regulates and guides higher education in Uganda.
A zoologist trained at Makerere University, where she rose to full professor, she served as Deputy Vice Chancellor of Gulu University and then as Vice Chancellor of Busitema University. She also chaired the Uganda National Examinations Board.
She has held leadership roles in regional and international higher education bodies, including the Inter-University Council for East Africa, RUFORUM and the Forum for African Women Vice Chancellors. She is a Fellow of the Uganda National Academy of Sciences and of the Royal Entomological Society of London.

Davor Orlič is the Chief Operations Officer of the International Research Centre on Artificial Intelligence (IRCAI), which works under the auspices of UNESCO, and of the Knowledge 4 All Foundation.
His work links artificial intelligence research with education and open knowledge, including support for the UNESCO Recommendation on Open Educational Resources (OER). He founded VideoLectures.net, the open archive of academic lectures, and holds a master's degree in Digital Humanities from University College London.
